Botox is a safe alternative for excessive sweating especially in the axillary region if used appropriately by a medical professional. Botox is FDA approved for people who sweat excessively from their armpits especially.

When used to treat excessive underarm sweating, Botox has been shown to result in approximately 85% decrease in sweating. Results start to be noticeable several days after treatment and the full effects are usually noted within two weeks.

The benefits of Botox for hyperhidrosis typically last anywhere from 3 to 6 months of the recommended interval with repeat treatment is approximately 3 to 4 months.

Most insurances will cover the medication and the treatment, however that is not always the case and each individual is responsible to check with their individual insurance provider.
